Macassar ebony veneer and nickel-plated mounts, the frieze drawer above a fall front  with leather writing inset to the reverse, enclosing a mahogany interior with an arrangement of open shelves and four small drawers, on slender tapering legs ending in sabots; together with a macassar ebony veneered chair, circa 1930, with stepped back, on square supports

Condition

Secretaire: A stylish piece of good overall appearance. With old marks and scratches consistent with age. Some vertical crazing to the veneer to front, consistent with age. One or two minor areas of veneer loss in places. Escutcheon to frieze drawer detached. With one key. Interior with typical marks through use. Chair: slightly faded overall. Minor losses to veneer to one or two small places. Seat fabric worn and dirty. Marks and scratches. Please note the chair and secretaire are associated and are not a set but still work well.
