Literature
A version of this model is illustrated, Malcolm Haslam, The Martin Brothers, Potters, London, 1978, p. 84, fig. 109
Condition
There are some typical minor firing flaws in places. The colour overall is less blue than it appears in the catalogue. There is a hair crack running through the dog's head. This is not immediately obvious. The interior of the head has been fitted with a metal spike and the body with a cork interior. These appear to have been fitted in order to ensure that the head remains fixed to the body. An amusing and unusual figure.
