- A Marqueterie-sur-verre vase parlant
- the lower body engraved 'Gallé Expos. 1900' with an engraved star
- 25cm. high;
- 9¾in.
glass, the dichroic ground internally decorated with vertical, horizontal and undulating striations, decorated with a flowering bough, engraved to the neck and body 'Dans des tulles en fleurs' and 'Le jour naissant s'infuse Rodenbach'

Condition
There are some miniscule adhesions of glass close to the rim, these are 1mm. wide and are not at all distracting. One internal bubble to widest part of shoulder, between two boughs, approximately 2mm diam.; again not distracting. An exceptional and rare exhibition piece with good contrasting decoration and finely carved details.

A vase with comparable motif and technique but with bronze mounts was sold Sotheby's Monaco, Arts Décoratifs du XXe Siècle, 17 March 1985, lot 31.
