- A marqueterie-sur-verre vase
body with engraved mark 'Gallé fecit', underside of foot engraved `15'
- 40.7cm. high;
- 1ft 4in.
glass, of flower form, the clear ground overlaid in shades of yellow and brown, carved with arum lilies on a martelé ground, the centres inlaid in yellow and red
Condition
There are some seeds and bubbles visible within the glass and some burst bubbles on the surface. There is an internal bubble to the triangular section of the neck on the interior - this is approximately 2.5cm. long and 1cm. wide and can be seen in the catalogue illustration. There are some minor manufacturing marks to the rim. There is some minor crazing to the pale yellow application on the reverse of the vase. This is a very well carved example of good size and form and in overall good condition. The detail in the carved decoration is not visable in the catalogue illustartion.
