Condition

A decorative ivory figure in good overall condition. There are painted and pierced details to the butterfly which are not immediately obvious in the catalogue illustration. There are two parallel and very slight marks in the ivory which run vertically from her left shoulder. One of these is approximately 2cm. long and the other approximately 1cm. long. There is a minute dark patch to the plaited hair above her left ear and another behind her right knee. There is a small very slightly darker patch to the left hand side of her face. None of these are obvious and can only be seen on very close inspection. There are some minor natural flaws and surface scratches to the base which are again, not immediately obvious. A delicately carved example.
