Description
- a gilt copper mounted ivory beaker
the drum carved in relief with figures allegorical of the seasons, mounted on three gilt copper claw feet, copper liner
Provenance
Adolf von Bernd (1892-1976) and thence by descent
Condition
The drum has retrenched and is loose from the base causing two vertical splits that go from the top to the bottom and which were reattached at some point where there is some discolouration. There is evidence of a white bloom in part of the background. A small section near the foot beneath a flaming brazier is missing. One of the maidens has lost the tip of her attribute. Rim mount loose, later gilt copper lining. The foot mount appears to be original.
