Description

  • a painted walnut figure of the prophet Zacharias
holding a scroll inscribed SACARIAS

Condition

In overall good condition. There is much original polychromy but worn and chipped in part. The gilding to the cloak with exentsive wear. A small section has been added to the base to stabilize the piece. There is a vertical fissure in particular extending form his left arm down through the scroll to the base. Gereral chips and scraches consistent with age. Samm section of left hand side of his hair missing. There is very minor evidence of worm damage. On the back an iron rin attachment with above a label inscribed in ink 'Collection P. Collette'.
