Purchased from the family of the artist by the grandparents of the present owner; thence by descent
Condition
Original canvas. There are scattered spots of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, notably to an area along the right edge and scattered minor flecks to the lower half of the composition. There is craquelure and paint shrinkage scattered throughout, and some surface loss, but the work has rich, bright colours. Held in a decorative, gold-painted carved wood frame with some surface wear.
