Condition
The canvas has been relined. There are scattered spots of retouching, visible under ultraviolet light, notably to the darker areas of the niche and doorway, partially obscured under a varnish. Apart from widely-scattered craquelure, and some light frame abrasion notably to the lower edge, and a pinhead spot of abrasion in the bottom right corner above the signature, this work is in good condition. Held in a decorative, gold-painted moulded plaster and wood frame with a name plate.
