- 43cm and 47cm high handle down
both clocks with arched brass dials, twin fusee movements, bell top cases surmounted a handle and finials, restorations
Condition
description of the clock by Stephen Asselin;
18-cm arched brass dial, engraved silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals signed Asselin London, date aperture, mask spandrels and alarm subsidiary in the top, twin fusee movement with verge escapement with simlarly signed foliate engraved backplate, rack striking on a bell, alarm on another bell, bell top case surmounted by a handle and four finials, glazed on all sides, moulded plinth raised on bun feet.
Condition;
dial tarnished and might benefit from a clean, alarm subsidiary slightly rubbed of the silver, movement in working order, verge restored, alarm restored in rather poor way and could be improved, case now just stained wood and used to be ebonized, backdoor replaced, case with scratches and some wear from age and wear, difficult to estabish all restorations

17.5-cm arched matted brass dial with apertures for date and mock pendulum, engraved silvered chapter ring and subsidiary for strike/silent in the arch, foliate pierced spandrels, fusee movement converted to anchor escapement with foliate engraved backplate signed Tho:s Hill Dukes Court St Martins Lane, rack striking on a bell, pull quarter repeating on six bells, moulded stained wood case with inverted bell top surmounted by a brass handle, glazed panels on all sides, moulded plinth on flat feet
condition;
dial and hands in good condition, movement in working order but needs to be cleaned, gutline of the striking not running well in the fusee (needs minor attention) movement converted to anchor escapement, case used to be black, case form the period but possibly associated, mask not fitting well, but on the other hand no other fixation holes or points for another earlier rmovement, case in good condition with the sides now with glazed panels, locks of front- and back door lacking,together with a winder and pendulum
