Condition

In overall reasonably good condition with traces of original polychromy. Some smaller losses to the carvings, especially to the extremities. Wanting both arms / hands. Some dryness cracks and related losses, especially to the base, the wine barrel and the tip of the Saint's right foot, as visible in the catalogue image.

Catalogue Note

Saint Willibrord (circa 658 – November 7, 739) was a Northumbrian missionary and is known as the 'Apostle to the Frisians' in the modern Netherlands. He became the first Bishop of Utrecht and died at Echternach, Luxembourg.
