Condition
The catalogue illustration is representative for the actual painting.
Both panels consists of three planks, the joins are hardly visible to the front. The two inner wings have been recently restored and are in good condition. Filled and retouched paint losses are visible throughout as well as extensive retouchings in the sky and draperies of the figures. No damages are visible to the naked eye. The paint layer is under a glossy and clear varnish.
Both grisaille outer wings show extensive paint losses throughout, but the paint layer is stable and adheres well.
Inspection under UV-light reveals extensive retouchings throughout the two inner wings.
Offered in plain, ebony wood frames, as illustrated in the catalogue, in good condition. (JD).
