Description

  • black painted V. marks, old (probably) inventory numbers 795 and various letters
  • coffee pot: 26cm. high.
finely painted with theatrical scenes, mostly from Pedro Calderón de la Barca's Alcalde de Zalamea, reserved against a light grey ground embellished with gilt scrollwork and geometrcial ornaments, between broad gilt ornamental borders; comprising: a coffeepot and cover, a teapot and cover, a sugarbowl and cover, a milk jug, and two cups and saucers

Condition

The tete-a-tete is in overall good condition with some minor rubbing to the gilding and minor light surface srcatching. The coffepot with partly regilt restoration to the spout, the cover with shallow restored chip to the underside of the cover. The sugarbowl with partly regilt upper rim, as well as the underside to rim of cover. One saucer with small shallow restored chip to underside of the rim.
