  • portrait plates: 23.5cm. diameter.
each portrait roundel reserved against a dark green ground, under a palmette and ornamental border, depicting Madame Gourgaud, Madame Lefèvre and Duchesse Bassano; together with a purple ground plate painted with Oriental scene, Empire, circa 1820; a Brussels plate with painting lady under broad gilt painted rim, the reverse inscribed in gold F. Faber à Bruxelles, Empire, circa 1820; a Meissen 'Punktzeit' plate with Kauffahrtei scene and reticulated broder, circa 1760/70; a pair of mythological plates, Empire, 1820; and a Vienna plate with allegorical scene under polychrome border, Empire, circa 1820

Condition

The three Sèvres plates: in overall good condition with some minor rubbing and losses to the gilding, light surface scratching, the Duchesse de Bassano plate probably associated; plate with Oriental scene: in overall good condition, rubbing to the gilding at border and raised parts of the decoration, minor light surface scratching; Meissen 'Punktzeit' plate: in overall good condition with minor wear to gilding and painting, light surface scratching, one minor hairline crack to reticulated rim; two mythological plates: in overall good condition with minor wear to the gilding and some light surface scratching; allegorical plate: in overall good condition with some minor losses to the polychrome, some light surface scratching, some minor retouches to the polychrome.
