Description

Hawthorne, Nathaniel. A Wonder Book. Hodder and Stoughton, 1922, number 137 of 600 copies signed by the artist, 16 coloured plates, 8 partially coloured plates and other illustrations by Arthur Rackham, original pictorial cloth gilt, [Riall, p.146], minor abrasion to one plate, spine slightly discoloured, head and foot of spine very slightly bumped--Goldsmith, Oliver. The Vicar of Wakefield. George G. Harrap, 1929, number 95 of 575 copies signed by the artist, 12 coloured plates and other illustrations by Arthur Rackham, original vellum with gilt titles, unopened, [Riall, p.170]; both 4to, illustrated end-papers, top edges gilt, in collector's full blue-black morocco solander boxes (signed "Bayntun-Riviere") with reproduction in gilt on upper covers, spines in compartments with morocco lettering pieces (2)
