- Two autograph postcards signed or initialed to E.G. Allen discussing a matter raised by his work, The Allegory of Love, comprising:
i) autograph postcard signed ("C.S. Lewis") noting that "my difficulty is that while in the first comparison... the second term is naturally spiritual, in the other... the second term is, in its plain sense, as physical as the first" and noting that the correspondent's solution "is to me perfectly satisfactory" (Magdalen College, Oxford, 9 January 1954); ii) autograph postcard initialed ("C.S.L.") suggesting that the correspondent sends a letter to Notes and Queries so that "we shall then get other people weighing in: with luck, we might even get some simpler solution than has occurred to either of us..."
