'Stealthy, creeping one by one | Out of cupboard, down from rafters', 205 by 155mm.; 'Dipping flowers in the cup, | So, the merry fairies sup', 205 by 153mm.; both pencil, watercolour and brown ink, signed with monogram lower right corner, framed and glazed

Catalogue Note

Both illustrations are from In The Fairy Ring, a volume published by Blackie in 1908 and are from the publisher's archive (sold December 2004). Both illustrations accompany the poem 'Pixy Work'. Two other illustrations from the same work were sold in these rooms, July 2006. The work of the figure painter and illustrator Emma Florence Harrison was influenced by William Morris and the Pre-Raphaelites.
