The total edition was 252 copies. 148 each have a single leaf (of 374) from an incomplete copy of Caxtons's edition of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales (Westminster: 1476 or 1477) formerly in the library of Lord Ashburnham. The present copy has a leaf is from "The Merchant's Tale", beginning "In halle sat this January and may / As fresh as is the bright someris day..."
