Beverly Chew (1850-1924) was a founding member of the Grolier Club, and served as its librarian from 1887 to 1892, and as president from 1892 to 1896. After his death his extensive library, containing a fine collection of first editions by early English authors, was dispersed at auction by the Anderson Galleries in New York.
