Catalogue Note
This edition is the last in which Coleridge's poems appear: from this time onwards he ceases to have any direct connection with Wordsworth's poems. There are a number of new variants in the texts of the poems. Wise comments that "the four original editions of Lyrical Ballads [are] treasured possessions for all time for the study of the development of the text of The Ancient Mariner".
