Catalogue Note
This revised edition of Laon and Cythna (see previous lot) is one of the uncommon copies with the date "1817" in the imprint, press-corrected in most copies to "1818". The 26 cancel leaves with the revised passages are from a cheaper, thinner paper stock watermarked "1817".
