Catalogue Note

Sibylline Leaves was first intended to be published alongside Biographica Literaria, thus explaining the 'Vol II' signatures throughout. It contains the first appearance of "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" in its better known revised form, and the great odes "Dejection" and "France".

This copy has corrections in a contemporary hand, taken from the errata sheet included. There is also a poem (eight verses of four lines) on 2pp. of the rear endpapers in the same hand, beginning "Not a drum was heard, nor a funeral note', and ending "But we left him alone with his glory."
