Catalogue Note
an important record of the artist's development and drawn during the year shepard won both the landseer and the british institution scholarships. Subjects include cavorting lambs, 'E.H. Shepard as Captain Dreyfus', figures on horseback, a tiger, steam engines, Cookham Lock, a water fountain in Goslar, a Fire Brigade brass band in Goslar, ships, 'Bexley Engine Waiting for Reinforcements', cricketeers (including W.G. Grace), and a fight between R.A. students and students from the Slade, etc.
