Catalogue Note
In 1917 Beatrix Potter sent miniature clay models of her characters to Grimwades asking if the firm might consider manufacturing them. A few months later the firm had agreed and requested permission to produce an additional range of china with a Potter design transfer on each. It appears that the range of china was manufactured throughout the 1920s and 1930s.
The box for Peter Rabbit's Tea Set is extremely rare.
