Catalogue Note

Nicholas Paganini was an Italian violinist, violist, guitarist and composer. He was the most celebrated violin virtuoso of his time, and left his mark as a pillar of modern violin technique. In this rare silhouette Edouart, who himself was one of the finest of his chosen art form, captures his sitter adopting his extraordinary habit of playing upon a single string.
