  • 25 by 37.1 cm.; 9 7/8 by 14 3/4 in.

Condition

The colours are clear however there is evidence of some minor fading. The paper tone has not discoloured and the sheet itself has been laid down onto non-acidic board.

Catalogue Note

Duncan concentrated on maritime subjects throughout his career. He sketched on the coasts of England, Scotland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and particularly the Gower Peninsula in Wales. The specific location of the present watercolour has not been identified, although it appears likely to be on the Gower Peninsula.
