Condition

The colours remain bright and fresh. The paper has suffered some minor discolouration, this is noticeable on the left hand side of the composition where a subtle discolouration line is visible. The sheet has not been laid down and in general the condition is good.

Catalogue Note

This view shows St. Mary's Church, Sudbury, from the towpath at Walton-on-Thames looking downstream. The cottage on the right which was known as 'Angler's Cottage' became a public house in 1870. The Angler's still stands today.
