  • both with painted factory mark, date code and order no. 102
  • height 32 cm, one with crack
both with a single arched handle, painted with two dragons in shades of blue, purple, red, yellow and green on a brown ground

Condition

A large but fairly unobtrusive crack running along one side of the connection of the handle to the body (curved, ca. 12cm long)

Catalogue Note

A similar dragon features on a magnificent Rozenburg wall plate dated 1896, painted by W. Hartgring. This Rozenburg dragon pattern was clearly inspired by a Japonist illustration on the cover of 'Das Thier in der Dekorativen Kunst' by Prof. A. Seder
