Catalogue Note

Kuznetsov produced two series of lithographs of Turkestan, the first of which was also published in 1923. He travelled widely in the eastern parts of the Russian empire and was a friend of Petrov-Vodkin (see lot 78), with whom he founded the journal Russkoe iskusstvo [Russian art].
