Catalogue Note
first edition. Le Corbusier's book was based on his "Pavillion des temps nouveaux" at the Paris exhibition "Art et Technique" held in 1937. It contained his ideas for new methods of urban planning and housing, including "immeuble-villa" complexes with communal areas for eating and recreation, yet retaining private areas for individual families. This publication circulated widely and influenced many contemporary architects.
