Catalogue Note

first edition, presentation copy. Aldini was the nephew of Galvani and this treatise concerns the effects of electricity on animal bodies; some of the plates show experiments on decapitated human bodies, frog's legs and a bull's head. There are 10 numbered plates; at the beginning of the sequence of plates is a proof of the first plate, in outline only without any of the hatching.
