The work is on its original canvas and is not lined. There are a few very thin craquelures in the impasto at the upper left corner. Under UV light there is no evidence of any retouching. This work is in very good condition.

Lorsque découvrant ma vraie nature je me suis décidé à me débarrasser de tous les uniformes existants pour me mettre nu, la figuration a volé en éclats et j'ai laissé tomber mon couteau de peintre qui s'est brisé en deux. Chemin abrupt de l'originalité. Aller de l'avant, marcher encore, qu'importe de tomber. Un jour j'ai troqué mon couteau contre un morceau de bois que j'ai rejeté par impatience. J'ai essayé à main nue, avec les doigts de la main, Puis, persuadé qu'il fallait aller toujours plus avant, j'avançais toujours plus loin et, en avançant, j'ai trouvé les pieds. C'était bien ça!
