Condition

This work is in excellent condition overall. The paper support is hinged at intervals to a ragboard mount. Overtime, the weight of this large sheet has resulted in large soft ripples or sags along the left and right sides and in the lower corners. Dating from the time of execution, there are scattered smudges and shoe treads as is typical of Basquiat's work. There are scattered creases, ranging from soft to deeper, some of which may be associated with a previous rolling prior to mounting the work. They are located primarily through the horizontal center and a linear crease located 19 inches down from the top and extending 10 inches in from the left edge. The paper edges on the left and right side were cut irregularly from a larger sheet. The work is framed in a blonde wood strip frame under Plexiglas.
