Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the horizontal bulbs are more blue and the pinks have slightly more soft orange tones in the original. The catalogue illustration fails to fully convey the three dimensional nature of the sculpture. Condition: This work is in very good condition and in good working order. It has been converted and is wired for the UK.

Catalogue Note

This work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

"The gaze cannot rest upon a sculpture by Dan Flavin.  Focusing is impossible, for the gaze is always drawn beyond the ambiguous and indeterminate limits of space and of the work itself.  From among the tactile and visual characteristics of fluorescent light, the artist uses heat and luminosity, therefore rendering the created sculpture untouchable".  Marc Pottier, Dan Flavin, Centro Cultural Light, Rio de Janeiro 1998, p. 24
