Catalogue Note
"Painting is an obsession for Jenney. When he needs to transcend studio objectives, his private getaway is a grassy hardball field. [...] The image is reality and the allegory here is almost as wistful as it is ironic. In life as well as art, Neil Jenney knows better than anyone what he's doing and how he got Here from There." – Paul Gardner, Neil Jenney 1960 to 1970, in Neil Jenney 1960-1970, New York, 2001, p. 12.
