Condition
This work appears in very good condition overall. There is evidence of wear, handling marks and light soiling at the edges. There is a 2 in. area of faint vertical accretions, located approximately 5 ½ in. from the left lateral edge and 6 ½ in. from the bottom edge. There is slight and unobtrusive buckling to the canvas in the lower-left corner. There is some craquelure at the pull margins and isolated areas of fine and stable craquelure scattered throughout the surface, the most notable of which are located 21 in. from the right lateral edge and 53 in. from the bottom edge and 13 ½ in. from the left lateral edge and 57 in. from the bottom edge. There is a pinpoint area of paint loss along the right edge, located approximately 51 in. from the bottom edge. There are three areas of apparent inpainting in the center of the composition, located approximately 60 in. from the right edge and 56, 58, and 60 in. respectively from the bottom edge which do not fluoresce under UV examination. This work is unframed.
