Condition

This work is in good condition. There is slight wear to the edges particularly at the corners. From the reverse, there is evidence of a repaired tear which is vaguely discernible and located approximately 8 1/4 in. from the right lateral edge and 7 in. from the bottom edge. There are some stable areas of craquelure scattered throughout the surface, including a series of horizontal cracks at the upper center of the canvas located 4 ½ in. from the top edge and approximately 8-11 ½ in. from the left edge. There is a diagonal crack in the lower-left quadrant extending from 5 ½ in. from bottom edge, 1 ½ in. from left edge to 2 in. from the bottom edge and 5 ½ from the left edge. The surface nuances visible throughout the composition are inherent to the artist's working method. There is no apparent evidence of restoration when viewed under UV light. This work is unframed.
