Colours:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is much brighter and more vibrant in the original, with more intensity to the reds and prominent glitters to the paint drops of the upper left quadrant.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. The canvas is quite slack resulting in some buckling in places most notably along the upper edge. There are some faint handling marks along the outer sections of the white border and some small spots of ochre media accretion to the inside white frame. There is a 2mm tear towards the left of the head, approximately 8cm below the centre of the top edge. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
