Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is softer in the original work, the mustard yellow tending more towards the orange and the purple towards dark lavender. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is some extremely light wear to all four corner tips. There is a small indentation above the monkey's right elbow. There are some very faint stretcher marks 6cm in from the vertical edges and several hairline cracks beneath the monkey's left underarm. There are two faint handling marks: one towards the upper left corner and another 3cm in from the centre left edge of the composition. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
