Condition

Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is sharper in the original work, with greater contrast and depth to the graphite and areas of black gouache. (i) Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is a light undulation to the sheet, which is securely hinged to the backing board in several places on the reverse. There are tiny artist pinholes in each corner tip and the right edge of the sheet is deckled. There are scattered minute blue specks in the lower right corner and a small smudge to the right of the figure's lower hand, both of which appear to be original to the work's execution. (ii) Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is a light undulation to the sheet, which is securely hinged to the backing board in several places on the reverse. There are tiny artist pinholes in each corner tip and the left edge of the sheet is deckled. There is a very light handling mark to the centre of the top edge. (iii) Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is a light undulation to the sheet, which is securely hinged to the backing board in several places on the reverse. There are tiny artist pinholes in each corner tip and the left and right edges of the sheet are deckled.
