Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is deeper and richer, with the red of the walls tending more towards cherry red in the original. The illustration does not fully convey the varied textures of the painting's surface. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There are vertical drying cracks in places throughout, which are original to the artist's working process. There are extremely fine hairline drying cracks, predominantly in places to the red border and a network of fine drying cracks to the top left-hand corner, with an associated spot of loss. There is very light frame rubbing in a few places along all four extreme edges, only visible upon close inspection. No restoration is visible under ultra-violet light.
