Condition
Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although they are more muted the original. The blue of the walls ranges from slate grey-blue to turquoise. The yellow on the right-hand side of the frame is brighter in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. The hole to the top right-hand corner of the canvas is original to the work's execution. There is some minor wear to the extreme corner tips and a few very fine hairline cracks to the extreme edges of the exposed canvas, only visible upon close inspection. Some surface dirt adheres to the artist's frame and there are some small spots of paint loss, notably to the centre of the upper edge of the lower plank, and a spot to the lower right-hand corner of the left plank, visible in the illustration. No restoration is visible under ultra-violet light.
