Condition

This work is in very good condition. The surface has recently benefitted from a topical cleaning courtesy of Amann + Estabrook Conservation and, as such, the surface is generally clean and has a very good appearance overa;;. There is a faint horizontal crack approximately 2 inches wide, extending from the first N of "Nonending" towards to left edge. Otherwise, there are no apparent condition problems with this work. Under ultra-violet inspection, there is evidence of several spots of retouching to the "9". Framed.

Catalogue Note

My fascination with numbers came out of a peculiar circumstance...My mother couldn't stand to live in one house for more that a year at a time. By the time I was seventeen...I had lived in twenty-one different houses. And so it got to be a kind of thing that this was house number 6 and this was house number 13. I was very concerned about it as a child and got even more interested in it later – Robert Indiana
