Catalogue Note
The creative process has always been the same, and will remain so. That is, the painter looks at nature, conciously or subconciously -- is inspired by some aspect of it, and paints it as he sees it. The quality of the painting depends on the man. In other words, how great is the artist's spirit?
It is the greatness of spirit in a painting that compells us to return to it, time after time. Then go back again and again, not for new discoveries, but for the renewal of a great experience.
