Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is brighter and more vibrant, with the grey background hues tending more towards pale lilac in the original. . Condition: This work is in very good condition. There are faint stretcher marks in places to the bottom edge. There are very fine hairline tension drying cracks in places along the turnover edges. On close examination there are four rub marks to the composition: two to the centre of the lower edge and two to the upper centre of the left edge. There are three very fine horizontal hairline cracks to the left centre of the lower right quadrant. No restoration is apparent under ultraviolet light.
