Catalogue Note
Damien Hirst was among a number of artists to design exclusive longboards for the charity 'Surfers Against Sewage'. The collective effort raised money by way of an open auction in 2003, after an extensive travelling exhibition promoting awareness of costal pollution and its vast damaging effects. This work is one of two longboards which Hirst designed for the campaign. The infamous 'spin' motif reflects the artist's fascination and play with colour and creates an impressive impact on this rare scale and backdrop.
