Catalogue Note
In 1998 the ICA presented the first major solo exhibition in a UK
public institution by the American painter Lari Pittman, an
exhibition which was also shown in Exeter, Manchester and Geneva.
Lari Pittman has generously donated the work Untitled, 2007. This
painting contains the folk-ish, vernacular imagery of house and
garden that Pittman has employed in recent years, rendered in his
characteristic web of interconnections and overlays, and conveying a
dark, unsettling undercurrent of meaning.
