Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is deeper and richer in the original, with the flesh tending more towards salmon. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is minor wear to the lower left and lower right corner tips with a tiny paint loss in the lower left corner. There are faint pencil marks to all four corners of the canvas inherent to the artist's working process. There is a small faint diagonal rub mark towards the top left corner. There are several tiny specks of paint loss towards the upper left corner, beneath the left centre of the top edge, and three faint horizontal rub marks to the top of the figure's hair. There is a light layer of dust adhering to the surface of the canvas. No restoration is a apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
