Condition
Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is much softer and warmer in the original. The colour of the sea tends more towards aquamarine and the dark blue area in the foreground tends more towards a slate grey. The sand also has more pink undertones in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. There are hairline tension cracks in places along the left and right extreme edges. There is a finger mark approximately 30cm. down from the top right hand corner, several finger marks towards the centre of the top right hand quadrant and also towards the top left hand corner. There is a tiny wood media accretion 10cm. to the left of the balloon in the lower right quadrant. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
