Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is softer in the original, with the navy tending more towards dark denim blue and the pale blue tending more towards lavender. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is a faint stretcher mark parallel to the top edge and another fine horizontal line 5cm beneath this. There is a tiny faint rub mark towards the upper right corner and a further mark towards the centre right of the lower edge. There is wear with associated tiny paint losses to the upper corner tips (with a further minute speck of paint loss 1cm below the upper right corner tip on the turnover edge) as well as to the lower left corner tip. There is a small stable tension craquelure to the lower right corner tip, and several further tension cracks upon close inspection of the extreme turnover edges. There is a tiny spot of retouching in the lower left corner tip and one 4cm above this on the left turnover edge.
